EV Charger Info

For information about the Parkview electric service upgrade project, please visit the electric project page for details and discussion.

The Parkview Recreation Association supports state and local policies intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase energy savings and expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

Once your building has its electric service upgraded, installing your own EV charger will be relatively easy. However, before the building power upgrades, our 1960s electric systems limit what's safe and possible.

Owners interested in installing EV chargers ahead of their building upgrade are invited to review Town of Corte Madera requirements and consult a licensed electrician to develop plans that can be submitted to the HOA for Architectural Review and approval.

Owners should consult the CC&Rs for applicable rules regarding EV charging, including:

  • You may not charge EVs using the HOA common circuit, which powers carport lights and the outlets in storage spaces. See Sec. 7.7(c)(9).
  • The HOA may request evidence of sufficient insurance when an owner installs their own EV charger. See Sec. 9.3(e).
  • The HOA may allocate the costs of EV charging capacity or facilities to users of the EV charging capacity or facilities. See Sec. 11.3(a).
